Bobby Stephens receives the Golden Trowel Award

The Travis Masonic Lodge 117 presented the Grand Lodge of Texas Golden Trowel Award to Bobby J. Stephens May 26th at Travis Masonic Lodge located at 2817 N. Travis Street.

The Golden Trowel is the highest award that an individual Lodge can bestow upon a member. It is presented as formal recognition of individual contributions rendered, not only to the principles of Freemasonry, but to the community, church, and educational facilities. It is intended for the Mason who, year after year, quietly but actively demonstrates his personal devotion to the principles of Freemasonry, without thought of individual recognition or special honors.

Bobby Stephens is a Past Master of Travis Lodge 117, and George R. Reeves Lodge 396. He is also past President of Grayson County Scottish Rite Club.

The award was presented on behalf of The Grand Lodge of Texas by Billy Burton, Past District Deputy Grand Master. The lapel pin was presented by his wife, Juanita. A proclamation from Travis Lodge was read by Robert Dunavan, Master of Travis Masonic Lodge. Family and friends were in attendance and refreshments and fellowship was enjoyed after the presentation.
